Merged attribute pictures are another type of composite image that PAPs creates dynamically without the need to upload additional images to represent a combination of selected attribute options. After you upload the images for each individual attribute option for two or more sets of attributes, you will be able to link them and then merge the images from each set so that a merged composite image will exist for every possible combination of attribute option selection. The order in which the individual images are merged (or layered) on top of each other is the same as the order in which the attribute sets were uploaded initially. Regardless of how many attribute sets you want to merge in this way, it is important to ensure that all but the first (or 'base') image are transparent gif or png files. It is also important to ensure that all image files to be merged are of the same size. You can easily experiment to see what types of images work best because the generation of all merged pictures is done automatically with one click, and can be undone just as easily. On the storeside product info page, the enlarged picture will represent the currently selected combination of attribute options, and will change when the customer selects a different option. At any time, the enlarge image can be clicked to activate the javascript popup, and popups which allow galleries will enable the customer to click through all the merged images if required.
When using merged images, the merged image will appear in the shopping cart to reflect the various attribute option selections the customer made prior to adding the item to the basket.
